Common Name: RED BARREL CACTUS
Native to Baja, parts of northern Mexico, and into southern Arizona, this is one of the most striking “Barrel Cactus”, with red spines that literally glow in back-lighted sunshine. It often clumps at the base as it matures, and has beautiful crowns of orange flowers in summer. To 4’ tall, very slowly… hardy to upper teens; full sun.
