I'm good for
Opuntia spinosior
Common name: Cane Cholla
Another "shrub" cactus to create height in a winter hardy cactus garden. OK, it's a cholla-it's got prickly thorns, but unlike many chollas that have really insignificant (or ugly) flowers, the Cane Cholla is adorned with beautiful carmen pink flowers starting in spring, and blooming well into summer! Can grow to be 4' or 5' tall, and as wide. Hardy to 0 degrees. Great plant from California coastal to mountains, plains, and mid-west. *There is no better security fence than a hedge of these! NO-ONE wants to get attacked by their thorny branches trying to get into some place they don't belong!
Don't forget to ask about the "Certified Label Program," when picking up new plants.
