These evergreen hybrids love the sun, but also do well with light shade. Flowering season can be prolonged by pulling out spent stems. Free and graceful growth habit. Likes regular watering. Hardy to high teens. Dwarf or compact varieties grow in tight clumps less than a foot tall with the same colorful flowers. Needs partial shade in hot interior valleys. Plants will show various acts of dormancy during hot summer months, ranging from arrested growth to browning of foliage. Cut to the ground at this time to refresh foliage.
