Cupressus arizonica Blue Ice
You have to love it; it’s so beautiful! The striking, silver-blue foliage has a crystalline texture that looks amazingly like “ice.” The Blue Ice Arizona Cypress is an eye-catching statement when contrasted against earth-tone architecture, dark green foliages, or fiery fall colors! It looks very “forest-like” when teamed up with “sweet gum” or birch trees, but is equally at home in appearance in Southwest, Mediterranean, and arid settings. If you really want to maximize its “ice-like” appearance, decorate it in winter with Christmas lights- it looks like the lights are glowing right on the “snow.” Performs beautifully from California-coastal to hot interior deserts. Fast growing the first few years, but then slowing way down as it approaches its full size of a small pyramidal tree, usually not exceeding 30 ft. tall by about 15 ft. wide. Avoid water-logged soils. Drought resistant and loves heat!
