Product Details
Botanical Name: Haworthia hybrid
Common name: Toad’s Toes

Haworthia hybrid, commonly known as Toad’s Toes… What has purplish-green skin, covered with whitish little bumps that look like warts all over? Toad’s toes! That’s why this tough, strange little plant is named that! Because that’s exactly what it looks like! Only 2 to 3 inches high, triangular shaped leaves are arranged in rosettes, forming clumps low to the ground. Grows slowly, but lives for many years, and is best used crammed into rock walls. If you are looking for that reptilian-amphibious, hand sized, animal motif that will fascinate children and adults alike, then this is a great plant. Excellent indoors on sunny windowsills, however it will loose the purplish tints. Full sun to partial shade along the Southern California coastal plain. It does not like intense heat. Sensitive to frost. Toad’s Toes are fascinating in container plantings where they are brought closer to eye level. Frequently blooms slender stems of pale green flowers with tints of white and pink, hanging like tiny little lanterns from the stems. Likes regular garden watering with dry intervals.
