Product Details
Common Name: Mexican Fencepost Cactus
Description:

Lemaireocereus marginatus, commonly known as Mexican Fencepost Cactus has perfectly vertical, dark green columns with 5 to 6 ribs that are braided with an ivory colored margin that is almost thornless. Because of its vertical habit, it really is commonly used as fencing in central and South America where stems are planted so close together that they literally form a wall of cactus columns! Much prettier however when given some space and it will occasionally out some additional branches from the base as it matures. I’ve seen old specimen plants up to 18 feet tall, but that takes a while. Hardy to mid 20s. Full sun. Appreciates extra water and fertilizer during warm growing season, or in hot inland desert climates.

  • Types: Cactus
  • Exposure: Full Sun
  • Height: 18 Feet
  • Hardy To: 25° F
