Common Name: Granite Honey Myrtle
Melaleuca elliptica, commonly known as Granite Honey Myrtle, is an interesting shrub with character has gray/green foliage that is nice for adding to cut flower arrangements. It is best potted as a mini tree or shrub laced out to reveal its structure or stems. Slow growing to eight feet tall and wide, it loves full sun, but is tender to hard freezes. Adapts to regular water or can be water-wise. When it blooms, they look like little red bottle brush flowers. Melaleuca eliptica has its own charm, as it is a little bit smaller overall, with a crankier, curious branch-structure shape.
