Acanthus mollis, commonly known as Bear’s Breech is a fast growing, large leafed, graceful perennial is often overlooked as a wonderful addition to the garden. A good choice for those shady areas! Dark green leaves contrast the 2′-3′ stems that produce pale lavender/white blossoms in the spring and early summer. An interesting addition to most landscapes from tropical to cottage gardens. Give plenty of room; will spread! Water-wise in shade when established
